DMCA and Copyright Policy

Effective October 2, 2026

This document applies to the Miru app, published on Google Play.

Miru respects intellectual property rights. This page explains what we can and cannot do about a copyright complaint, and how to file one.

1. We do not host anything

Our apps are readers and players, not hosts. Not a single video file, page image, cover or other media is uploaded to, stored on, cached by or served from our servers. We hold no copy of any work, and we are not affiliated with any website that does.

All we run is a pointer index, much like search-engine results: titles, episode lists and links to the third-party public websites where the work lives. Everything shown on screen, cover images included, is loaded by the user's device directly from the source website, under that website's own policies.

What we can therefore do is remove the entry from our index, so the title no longer appears or opens in our apps. To have the material itself taken off the internet, you need to contact the website that hosts it, which we do not control.

2. Filing a notice

If you are a rights holder (or their agent) and believe an entry in our index links to material that infringes your copyright, send a notice to miruapp.mobile@gmail.com containing:

  1. Identification of the work you claim is infringed (title, author, and evidence of ownership or authority, such as a link to the official publication).
  2. Identification of the entry in our app: the title exactly as it appears in the app and, if available, the source URL it links to.
  3. Your contact details: name, address, email and telephone number.
  4. A good-faith statement that you believe the use of the material is not authorized by the rights holder, their agent or the law.
  5. An accuracy statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in the notice is accurate and that you are the rights holder or authorized to act on their behalf.
  6. A physical or electronic signature of the rights holder or their agent.

We may ask you to complete an incomplete notice before acting on it.

3. What we do

On a valid notice we will remove the entry from our index entirely, so the title no longer appears, can be searched for, or can be opened in our apps, normally within a few business days, and notify you by email. On request we can also act on related titles from the same rights holder.

4. Counter-notice

If you believe an entry was removed by mistake or misidentification, you may send a counter-notice to miruapp.mobile@gmail.com containing: identification of the removed entry; a statement under penalty of perjury that you believe in good faith the entry was removed by mistake; your name, address and email; a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the competent court; and your signature. We may forward the counter-notice to the original complainant and restore the entry if they do not file a legal action within a reasonable time.

5. Repeat infringement and abuse

We may suspend the accounts of users who repeatedly post copyright-infringing content through the community features. A knowingly misleading notice or counter-notice may expose its sender to legal liability.
